Description

Situated in the North of Scotland, Achmelvich Bay is a stunning white sand beach that you would be forgiven for thinking is in the Caribbean. It forms part of Scotland’s North West snorkel trail where rocky outcrops provide a great habitat for the local marine life. You can expect to see plenty of fish amongst the kelp beds as well as starfish, urchins and jellyfish.

Things to Do

The area is renowned for its snorkelling. However, the area is very popular for a range of outdoor activities including water-sports, fishing, hillwalking and mountain climbing.

How to Get Here

1/2 mile north of Lochinver on the A837 you will reach the B869. Along the B869, a minor road is well signposted towards Achmelvich Bay.
