About the Tour
This 7-night itinerary will see you travelling through the Outer Hebrides, stopping off on the Isle of Lewis, Uist & the Isle of Skye. Whilst on your exciting holiday, you’ll be immersed in the wildlife both on land and sea.
On boat tours, you’ll be looking for dolphins, whales and seals. On land, guided by local wildlife experts, otters, eagles, throated divers and more seals are on the list of species you’ll be looking for.
On this itinerary, any and all aspects can be tailored to your party’s individual needs and requirements.
Start - Ullapool, Scotland
To kick-start your adventure, you’ll be checking in to a no-fuss hotel located closeby to the ferry terminal. You’ll be staying here overnight, where in the morning, you’ll check-out and catch the ferry to Stornoway (Isle of Lewis).
Isle of Lewis
Once off the ferry and on the Isle of Lewis you’ll be checking in to your choice of accommodation for two nights. The properties available vary from contemporary self-catering cottages to traditional B&Bs and restored castles.
A 7-hour boat trip departing from Stornoway Harbour will take you out into the stretch of water known as the Minch. Accompanied by a wildlife guide, you will be searching for the resident whales and dolphins. Due to the trip being a full-day, you will maximise your chances of seeing extraordinary species of marine mammals such as Killer Whales and Humpback Whales.
Uist
After your days of adventure on the Isle of Lewis, you’ll be travelling to the quiet lands of Uist. The accommodation on offer here matches the laid-back atmosphere, with small-boutique, family run hotels being the norm.
The day after arriving you will be going on a wildlife tour around this beautiful island to look for otters and the less common bird species that call this area home.
Isle of Skye
You will spend your final two nights on the Isle of Skye where the accommodation varies from swanky hotels, to small-cosy chalets. Whatever your preference, we will tailor it to suit you.
On this last stop, you will have the chance to head out from the south-east coast of skye in search of whales dolphins and basking sharks. You’ll be making your way around some of the beautiful isles of Canna, Rum, Soay, Eigg and the Cuillin and Loch Coruisk.
Alternatively, if you prefer dry land, you can hop in to a warm minivan and be shown the best wildlife spots around Skye. You’ll make frequent stops to look for eagles and otters. Equipped with a top-of-the-range telescope, you’ll be able to see animals from far away and in amazing detail.
